 My name is Joanna Manos, and I teach PreK at NISD. This will be my 35 th year of
teaching and my 17 th year in PreK.
I am married to Donnie Manos, and have three beautiful and talented daughters:
Heather, Holly and Hannah. I have four dogs: Rowdy, Katy, Luna and Miles; and
two turtles: Miramar and Destin.
I enjoy camping, crafting, reading and being “Sparkly”.
I am a 1983 graduate of NISD and received my Associate in Arts from
Weatherford College in 1985, where I played basketball for the Lady Coyotes. I
then transferred to Midwestern State University where I received my Bachelor of
Science in Education in 1988.
I began my teaching/coaching career at Azle ISD from 1989-1991. In 1991, I moved
to Petrolia ISD and continued my teaching/coaching from 1991-1996. In the fall of
1996, I returned home to Newcastle ISD as a teacher/coach. I gave up coaching in
2004, and changed directions from PE/Science to PreKindergarten. I began
teaching PreK and fell in love with it! I truly believe it is my calling!
